The Children's Society


The Brief

The Children’s Society needed a specialist provider to deliver the fundraising elements of their new website. They wanted users to have the choice of making one off donations and/or regular giving and to be able to Gift Aid their contributions. They needed flexible tools, able to work across all their online fundraising and campaigning activities.

Our Approach

Flexibility and reliability are at the centre of the new system. Highly adaptable, it enables one off donations via credit and debit cards (with Secure Trading handling credit card transactions), regular giving by direct debit (via an online form approved by their bank) and Gift Aid.

Campaign management tools let staff create new landing pages for different campaigns. A tailored design approach ensures these forms fit the existing website design and also optimises user experience. Address validation software is incorporated to further ease the process and secure high quality data. Donors receive email confirmation of their contribution.

Other management tools have been incorporated to monitor fraud/settlement, view donation details and provide a tailored daily download file – the latter enables The Children’s Society to integrate data into their internal databases. Statistics reporting shows monthly donation totals, income for each campaign and completion rates for different forms.

The Results

The adaptability of the system Baigent developed enables The Children’s Society to fundraise through a range of online channels - credit card and direct debit donations, their shop and events booking – leading immediately to a significant increase in income.
