Faithworks
The brief To design and develop a website which would work to bring together thousands of partners, church denominations and individuals. The objective is to build a movement to empower and inspire local churches to develop their role at the heart of their community and to support political campaigning at the highest levels. Our Approach A focussed strategy and design phase culminated in a striking and contemporary design, with flexibility built-in to allow for the growth of this movement from its launch in 2002. Supporting events and debates involving opinion leaders, leading journalists and MPs is a core element of Faithwork’s campaigning activities. The site was designed therefore to enable staff to use Baigent’s Site Manager to easily communicate new events and to put supporting materials – for example from conferences, consultations and reports - available to download online. Members and Affiliates enjoy the benefit of the Faithworks online library of resources including a searchable online directory of organizations that work with local communities, together with online shopping. Monthly funding bulletins and resource downloads deliver additional membership benefits. The Results With 33,000 visits in a typical month, the site now supports over 18,000 members whose number continues to grow as momentum gathers pace. It has played a vital role in supporting Faithwork’s campaigning role – for example, backing up the 2005 Faithworks lectures given by Tony Blair, Michael Howard and Charles Kennedy which were webcast live from www.faithworks.info. |
