Hamilton Trust
This hugely popular teachers resources site now attracts over 70,000 visits a month. Features include:
Launched in December 2001 the site has proved successful from day one. From 30,000 documents downloaded in its first three weeks, usage is now:
The site makes it easy for teachers to search lesson plans, resources and other documents by school year, subject or keyword. Teachers can build up a "workbook" of their favourite pages, join in discussions and check the calendar for training events. All content and resources on the site are managed by Hamilton's staff using Baigent's Site Manager. Hamilton staff needed to get more teaching resources on their site, but in less time. So we synchronised the site’s database with their in-house resources database so when that’s updated, the website is too. The teaching plan generator Hamilton Trust wanted to provide greater online flexibility and choice for teachers whilst maintaining the quality of their plans. It was also essential that online tools were very user friendly and didn’t put teachers off. Baigent’s teaching plan generator enables teachers to create a plan for the term, choosing from a variety of weekly plans. Once chosen, the website automatically generates a zip file containing all the resources the teacher needs for those plans, plus the plan itself! The plans can then be adapted by the teacher to their own specific needs. Award nominations include New Statesman 2003 New Media Award |
